How It Started
Growing up in Canada, Scott experienced many aspects of sustainable living from gardening a family plot to working in other family agriculture businesses. As an avid outdoorsman, he came to respect the diverse ecosystems of Mother Nature which has sparked his interest in conservation of wildlife and wildflowers and applying alternative growing techniques. His goal is to educate future generations sharing what he has learned through the years. His motto is “Don’t be a hater, save a pollinator”.
Melissa grew up fascinated with all animals and in love with nature. Working in the veterinary profession for 30+ years she has witnessed not only the love people have for their companion and farm animals but the amazing interaction between humans and our whole ecosystem. She fully understands the critical symbiotic relationship and hopes to be a small part in preserving and improving this balance. Her motto is “Saving the planet one pollinator at a time”.

After moving to a 15 acre farm, Melissa and Scott hoped to encourage wildlife of all sizes to visit their property. Vegetable gardens, native wildflower plots, open pastures and woodlands make up their enticing land. After attending a conservation seminar, Scott learned of the critical situation for pollinators and how they directly affect the human food chain. He decided right then to launch a native wildflower seed business as a way to educate and make a difference. They have made it their mission to encourage people whether living rural, suburban, urban, in apartments or houses, to plant what they can to support native pollinators. It takes just a small raised bed, or multiple planters, a corner of the backyard, or a group of apartment balconies to provide valuable resources to our most important allies.
